Mission Statement

Durham Children and Young People's Council is a democratic, youth lead organisation, that aims to inform and help young people understand their rights as defined in the United Nations Convention on the Rights of the Child. We are a friendly and informative group of young people who meet weekly in central Durham to discuss issues which are important to young people across the County.
Durham Children and Young People's Council strives to help each other grow in confidence, become more independent, able to make decisions and influence change. One of our many aims is to improve life for young people in County Durham and give everyone an opportunity to take part.
